Windows Media Photo (WMP) Better Than JPEG
Microsoft unveiled a new photo format that it claims will provide better quality at half the size of a JPEG image.
Windows Media Photo (WMP) will be built into the new Windows Vista. Windows Media Photo is a new file format for continuous-tone still images that surpasses the limitations of existing image formats.
Microsoft has been working on the photo format with unnamed partners, including camera makers, for nearly four years.

Gigabyte i-RAM: World’s Fastest Hard Disk?
Through GIGABYTE\’s custom intelligent controller, i-RAM acts like a regular SATA hard drive at theoretically 1.5Gb/s data transfer rate.
By utilizing conventional DDR memory modules, i-RAM is outfitted with four 184-pin DIMM slots that will accept any DDR DIMM and support up to 4GB unbuffered / non-ECC memory. Most of all, the major issue of data lost after powering down is solved by i-RAM\’s backup battery which is charged by your system on the fly.

Chicken-Egg Question Finally Solved: The Egg Came First!
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
According to a scientist, a philosopher and a chicken farmer, it was the egg, British newspapers reported.
The key to the age-old question apparently lies in the fact that since genetic material does not change throughout an animal\’s life, the first bird that evolved into a chicken must have initially existed as an embryo inside an egg.
Professor John Brookfield, from England\’s University of Nottingham, concluded that because of this, the living organism inside the eggshell would have had the same DNA as the chicken it turned into.
The specialist in evolutionary genetics was quoted in a number of newspapers as saying:
Therefore the first living thing which we could say unequivocally was a member of the species would be this first egg. The egg came first.
Brookfield\’s conclusion was backed up by Professor David Papineau, of King\’s College, London, and the chairman of the trade body Great British Chicken, Charles Bourns.

Rare Photos of Great People
They are the one who transforms the World of Tech!

This is the picture of Microsoft family in 1978. Picture was taken when Microsoft was started. Can you see the young Bill Gates then?

Tim Berners Lee — The founder of the World Wide Web (WWW) in his early days.

Steve Woznaik (sitting) and Steve Jobs of Apple Computers.
He was three months late in filing a name for the business because he didn’t get any better name for his new company. So one day he told to the staff: “If I’ll not get better name by 5 o’clock today, our company’s name will be anything he likes…” so at 5 o’clcok nobody come up with better name, and he was eating Apple that time… so he keep the name of the company ‘Apple Computers’.

Bill Hewlett (left) and Dave Packard of Hewlett-Packard. Behind them in the picture is the famous HP Garage.
Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company they founded would be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett, and the winner was NOT Bill…the winner was Dave.

Ken Thompson (left) and Dennis Ritchie, creators of UNIX.
Dennis Ritchie improved on the B programming language and called it ‘New B’. B was created by Ken Thompson as a revision of the Bon programming language (named after his wife Bonnie). He later called it C.

Gordon Moore (left) and Bob Noyce, founders of Intel.
Bob Noyce and Gordon Moore wanted to name their new company ‘Moore Noyce’. But that was already trademarked by a hotel chain…so they had to settle for an acronym of INTegrated ELectronics = INTEL

Larry Page (left) and Sergey Brin, founders of Google.
Google was originally named ‘Googol’. After founders (Stanford graduates) Sergey Brin and Larry Page presented their project to an angel investor…they received a cheque made out to ‘Google’! So they kept name as GOOGLE, and it stays till today.

Andreas Bechtolsheim, Bill Joy, Scott Mc Nealy and Vinod Khosla of SUN (Stanford University Network) MicroSystems.
Founded by four StanfordUniversity buddies. Andreas Bechtolsheim built a microcomputer; Vinod Khosla recruited him; Scott McNealy to manufacture computers based on it; and Bill Joy to develop a UNIX-based OS for the computer…SUN is the acronym for Stanford University Network.

How to Enable The Hibernate Option in Windows XP
Finally, after years of unfulfilled promises, power management features in Windows XP actually work (most of the time). Now you can put your machine in a no-power hibernation state, and when you awaken your computer from its slumber, Windows reappears in a flash.
The Hibernate option can be hard to find. Here’s the trick: when you reach the “Turn off computer” screen, hold down the Shift key. The Stand By button miraculously turns into a Hibernate button. So, Click and snooze!
Don’t see the Hibernate option? Hibernation was probably disabled on your system. To enable it, open the Power Options control panel, click the Hibernate tab, and check the “Enable Hibernation” box.
