Computer mouse was first invented by Douglas Engelbart and his team at Stanford Research Institute. At that time, its body was made from wood.. which doesn’t look like a mouse at all! It was introduced to the public in a demonstration on December 9, 1968 in San Francisco. Here is the epic picture of the first mouse.

GOD! This is even “bigger” than my hard disk – no kidding!

Kingston has revealed the world’s first 256 GB USB flash drive – the highest capacity flash drive on the market (as of posting). The DT300 has transfer rates of up to 20 MB/sec. read and 10 MB/sec.

Here are some facts about 256 GB. With 256 GB of storage, you can store:

10 Blu-ray discs (~25 GB each)

54 DVD discs (~4.7 GB each)

365 CD discs (~700 MB each)

I think this is one of the best gadget netbook users can have since storage is quite limited.

For more information, check Kingston’s official product page.

Can get your kids (or even you!) to stop playing games? Here is the <strike>solution</strike>. Not really!

GameDr, a gadget invented by John Morrisey which pretty much looks like an ordinary timer can be programmed to shut off power of any console connected to it.

Parents can set any amount of time – from minutes to hours on the password-protected GameDr and when the time runs out, gaming is over.

Although GameDr might be useful to some busy parents, console like Xbox 360 already have build-in parental control that did the same thing. On top of that, kids nowadays are much more clever than you think. They can simply bypass GameDr using a spare power cord which is relatively cheap to own.

But well, if you think your kids are dumb, this gadget might work for you.

How about a gadget blog with a little twist?

I stumbled upon this particular new gadget blog, GadgetAdvisor.com while looking up and down looking for travel gadgets. Well, it is is not really a pure gadget blog but also provides news, tips and tricks for hardware and software.

GadgetAdvisor.com might penetrate into the mainstream, but as for now they focus on tech news that are significant and useful. Besides news, they also offer gadget advises (purely reflects the domain name). I’ve found some really fantastic read from GadgetAdvisor.com.

[GadgetAdvisor.com]

Here are some of them I found to be useful and quite interesting:

Best Firefox extensions (Tips)

Best Windows software downloads (Tips, software)

GadgetAdvisor.com looks very promising for a new site. Should worth a bookmark!

Yeah, television do need a lift sometimes, considering those who owned large LCD TV. Those big screens are heavy, and you don’t want to move or lift your thousand dollars baby with a risk.

I came across this Nexus21 TV Lifts while watching random clips on Youtube. I stumbled upon one of their video clips (see below).

Some kind of robotic gadget huh? Well, sort of at first. But actually it is a TV lifter. You are seeing Nexus 21 TV Lift system in action.

So, the idea of this system is NOT to provide you a moving lifter (you might need a robot for real) but to conceal your plasma or LCD TV in a cabinet, behind your bed, wall, etc. This is because most homes nowadays have limited spaces and thus such TV lifter is an ideal gadget to have.

OK, some info about Nexus 21 TV Lift System. Nexus 21 is the most reliable TV lift systems ever made, that the claim but it really has a brilliant track record. Check out the testimonial page, this system is recommended by many professional interior designers.

This system can support up to 65” LCD screen, I say WOW! Its extension speed is quite fast and and almost silent. OK here is some interesting facts…

Nexus 21 has been tested to over 40,000 cycles without any loss of performance (that is equivalent to you raising and lowering the lift 10 times a day for 10 years).

Are you amazed now? I bet you do!

If you are an all round laptop user, you might one to take a look on one of these laptops. PC World had a list of The Best 10 All-Purpose Laptops posted on their website.

If you plan to shop for a laptop sooner or later, this list might be handy to you. Do check out the full list at PC World, and at the mean time here are the top three on the list:

1) Acer Aspire 5920-6954 Laptop

Except for business applications, which it lacks, the Acer Aspire 5920 Vista Home Premium laptop has just about everything home-office buyers could ask for in a solid budget laptop. Equipped with a 1.66-GHz Core 2 Duo T5450 and 2GB of memory, the Aspire 5920-6954 earned a solid WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 70. The terrific keyboard boasts loads of shortcut buttons that do everything but take out the trash

2) Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 Laptop

Lenovo’s IdeaPad Y510 vaults into the upper reaches of our most recent all-purpose laptops chart, largely on the strength of its design smarts. It feels as durable as its beefier sibling, the ThinkPad. In PC World Test Center benchmarks, the Lenovo IdeaPad matched the Acer Aspire 5920-6954 almost step-for-step, yet the Lenovo costs $100 less.

3) HP Pavilion dv2660se Laptop

The HP Pavilion dv2660se offers strictly budget performance, but its battery life, great design, and low price make it a winner. The six-pound HP Pavilion’s high-capacity 12-cell battery endured for a whopping 6.3 hours on one charge in our tests. The HP Pavilion dv2660se offers strictly budget performance, but its battery life, great design, and low price make it a winner. The six-pound HP Pavilions high-capacity 12-cell battery endured for a whopping 6.3 hours on one charge in our tests. That’s about 2.5 hours longer than the average mainstream laptop.

One of my friends owns a HP Pavilion dv2660se. The battery power indeed last longer than my Dell Inspiron 6400, infact double my battery life.

I plan to change my 2 year old Inspiron end of the year, but most probably to a MacBook or MacBook Pro but it quite pricy though.

I received an email from one of my blog visitor pointed out this to me. At first I’m a bit shocking. But again, I dig into this website, BrickHouse Security to find out more about those GPS Tracking Systems.

To my surprise, they did provide GPS tracking solutions to the FBI, US Navy, Army and countless others, those are their premiere clients! Interesting huh? I browse deeper…

Out of so many companies that provide GPS tracking solutions, why BrickHouse Security? Obviously, the answer must be on their GPS tracking solutions.

It is stated there that their GPS tracking solutions can track ANY person or vehicle, meaning all everything is trackable as long as it is inside this world. I have a few questions popup when comes to tracking a human being. How are you suppose to track a person without his/her knowledge? and is this legal?

Well, you can use GPS Tracking to track your child’s safety and not tracking others without their knowledge. I think this violates human rights, but well you have the final say.

OK, back to BrickHouse Security. They provide many types of tracking, which includes GPS data logger, real time GPS tracking systems and also some specific GPS tracking solutions. One of them are made specifically to locate and monitor suspects and offenders which I think might be used by FBI. Not bad huh?

I’m going to upgrade my laptop’s memory early next month, so I’m doing some startup survey on the current market price and I stumbled upon this website, MemoryDeal.net while browsing around for DDR2 price. Just to share, you might find it useful one day.

So, why MemoryDeal.net and not others?

After much googling around, I didn’t find any worthwhile website compared to Memory Deal. So, I’m getting off my scope (memory price survey) to dig more about Memory Deal by looking at their about page, etc. So, here are what I get to know about Memory Deal:

Memory Deal is the first and only online store offering customers genuine factory original memory modules for each and every memory upgrade. No jokes, I found my original memory modules there!

Memory Deal insures your computer RAM memory upgrade purchase is the right choice every time you buy online. So, if you have any doubt, the guys at Memory Deal is there to assist you!

There are tons of memory modules available, almost every memory product available like DDR PC2700 Memory, Apple Mac RAM, IBM Server RAM Memory and many more.

So, if you are a Mac or iMac user, you come to the right page too. You can check out Add IMAC Memory for a perfect guide. As for PC desktop users, you can refer to Adding Computer RAM on how to get the perfect OEM memory combination with your PC.
