Google Android Live CD & Live USB

If you are among those unfortunate (like me) that don’t have access to Android mobile phone, this is the best gift so far from the Android community – LiveAndroid!
LiveAndroid is a Live CD disc image (iso) of the Google Android mobile OS. This means that you can run it live from a CD (yes, CD ONLY for now), USB thumb drive but not yet ready for v0.2. You can also run LiveAndroid using virtualization software like VirtualBox, VMware Fusion 2 (good news for Mac user) or Microsoft Virtual PC.
It is still in experimental/early beta stage, so don’t expect anything awesome besides bugs. But if you really want to “feel” and try out Google Android, this is the best bet.

How to Prevent Google.com from Redirecting to Local Google Homepage
By default Google redirects all search request and direct Google.com access to your local (country-specific) Google homepage; for my case, it is Google Malaysia (Google.com.my).
Google Web Search is customized for a number of countries and regions across the world. For example, Google.fr provides search results that are most relevant for users in France; Google.co.jp is the Google domain for Japan. We try to direct users to the site that will give them the most relevant results.
Sometimes you don’t want this. The reason is because your search will be more relevant if using Google.com rather than your local Google search.

Cheers Gmail: Insert Inline Image Anywhere In Your Email
I have been waiting for this feature (I bet you guys do as well!) to be made official since Gmail was born and finally Gmail now supports inline images — officially!
Previously, there are a few tweaks to put inline images in your Gmail’s email but you no longer need that now. Gmail’s got a new option in its labs section that lets users insert images directly into their e-mails, and not just as attachments.

How to activate? Easy pie! Just turn on “Inserting images” from the Labs tab under Settings, and you’ll see a new toolbar icon beside the emoticon’s icon. Continue Reading →

Google’s Web Server and Data Center Revealed

Google has been running on its own servers at its own data center for some time now. So, have you ever wonder how Google’s servers and data center look like?
For the first time at Google Data Center Energy Summit, Google provided a look inside its data center operations and revealed its custom web server to the public.
Google Data Center
Google uses shipping containers to store its servers and storage. Each of these 40-foot data center containers can house up to 1,160 servers and a power consumption that can reach 250 kilowatts.

Fake Google Adsense Earning Generator

If you are running Google Adsense on your website/blog you might have came across articles/posts/ebooks related to Adsense on how to increase CTR and earnings. You MUST have seen (especially in ebooks) screenshots of Adsense earnings hitting the three, four or five figure mark a day.
Those so called “Adsense gurus” will teach you a fool-proof blueprint method that you can follow easily (just like them) and hit the five figure mark DAILY. And those ebooks are written is a very convincing manner that makes you believe those figures are 101% REAL. But the fact is, you might have been duped!

Google Talk: How to Determine Who Appears Invisible

This is a very easy trick to determine who appears “invisible” from those who are really offline in Google Talk. It is not like in MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger where it is impossible (as far as I know) to differentiate from those appearing offline and real offline.
