How to Access Restricted Websites Using Google

This is a little tutorial to show you how to use Google Translate to access blocked websites or restricted pages due to a proxy block (by your office, school, university, etc.)

We all know that Google is more than a search engine; we do use it as provider for email, mapping, news and many other services. But do you know, indirectly, is also a free proxy service.

Proxy is a device that stands between a PC and the internet, providing all the connections to the world wide web. What a proxy does is to receive all data from a requested site, so when you access web pages all data come from proxy.

What’s the purpose for as a proxy? We often use office/school/university connections, usually those services are set to provide more safety, blocking the access to undesidered web sites (the “black list”). What you can do now is use translator service (language tools) as a proxy to bypass the restrictions set for our connection!

You just need to type the following URL in the address bar:

http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.restricted.com

Note: www.restricted.com refers to the URL that you want to browse.

What you’ll get is the translation (English to English – that’s the content) of the page you want to see, your connection is directed to a .com page so this page won’t be blocked (would be blocked only with .com on the black list), no matter what’s the content.

Google OS

I came across this in a forum…and I’m totally shock! Read this, this is about a new operating system by . It has not been comfirmed yet by . My first thought was all these shots are an artwork.

Googleos_bootIt is based on GNU/Linux with a HURD/Googled kernel and it is supposed to come in three releases: Embedded, Portable and Corporate. This OS basically relies on the idea of a Remote-OS: the kernel and the boot components are loaded in a chip or in a proper 2GB usb key, while all the remaining apps will be downloaded from a secure server. The LSI chip has been made for an easy integration in some next-gen motherboards, making possible the creation of -based machines which will be able to act as a cluster node and share the load of work.

The USB device, instead, will let users boot their favourite system directly from the key (and that’s quite obvious). The data will be encrypted with a public GPGP key and made safe from possible abuses. Rumours tell that the system will be able to seek for local and remote devices and create a dedicated storage area on the user’s HD (as some Live Linux Distro does). The third option, called corporate, will let companies install a local cabinet in order to avoid waste of band.
