Stunning Optical Illusion
I’ve posted many optical illusions before, but this one impresses me most. If you cover the bottom part of the picture, everything seems normal, but once the bottom part is revealed, the two workers below should be “hanging” but the picture explains otherwise.

The top and bottom parts blend well into an optical illusion.

Damn Small Linux, The 50MB Portable Linux
Damn small, yeah it’s really damn small yet damn good! Damn Small Linux or better known as DSL is a very versatile mini Linux desktop packed with tons of features. Only 50MB in size, you can run it from a USB or CD, it’s your choice!
Guess what, DSL also can be hosted within an operating system, meaning that you can run it “inside” Windows (or other Linux OS)! Ya, by the way, it only needs as little as 128MB RAM to run.

Ig Nobel Prize 2007 Winners
Here is a list of 2007 winners of Ig Nobel Prizes. The Ig Nobel Prizes are a parody of the Nobel Prizes and are given each year in early October — around the time the recipients of the genuine Nobel Prizes are announced. The Ig Nobel Prizes were created by the Annals of Improbable Research (AIR), a science magazine.
The Winners:
Medicine - Brian Witcombe, of Gloucestershire Royal NHS Foundation Trust, UK, and Dan Meyer for their probing work on the health consequences of swallowing a sword.
Physics - A US-Chile team who ironed out the problem of how sheets become wrinkled.
Biology - Dr Johanna van Bronswijk of the Netherlands for carrying out a creepy crawly census of all of the mites, insects, spiders, ferns and fungi that share our beds.

Popular Myths
Here are a few popular myths that are too good to be true!
It takes seven years to digest gum.
While it may prove a bit more difficult to break down than organic foodstuffs, chewing gum gets no special treatment from the digestive system. Doctors figure this old wives’ tale was invented to prevent kids from swallowing the rubbery substance.
Hair and fingernails continue growing after death.
Though hair and fingernails appear to keep growing after death, this is merely a morbid optical illusion at work. In death the human body dehydrates severely, retracting enough skin to expose more nail and hair.
The five second rule.
Having an arbitrary rule justifying the consumption of food dropped on the floor within a certain time frame is convenient, especially when said food is a brownie. Unfortunately, tests (and logic) confirm that germs will stick to most foods right on contact.

The event is widely visible from the United States and Canada as well as South America, the Pacific Ocean, western Asia and Australia. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon’s disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.
