R.I.P. Webroot Founder

Webroot

This is neither a great news nor a joke. I was bluntly stunned when I came a cross few tech news sites reporting that Webroot founder, Steven Thomas has been found dead in Hawaii after two weeks gone missing.

This is a sad and shocking news. If you want to read more about this, hop to PCWorld.

Well, I still remember…my very first spyware tool is Webroot Spy Sweeper which I installed in my first desktop PC and I’m still using it today on my laptop.

RIP Steve.

People Left Google for Microsoft?

Google_microsoft

I bumped into this very interesting article, Working at Microsoft vs. working at Google. Guess what? According to Microsoft’s Windows Live Platform program manager, Dare Obasanjo, more and more people had hopped over from Google to Microsoft or had chosen to join Microsoft over Google.

I was little surprised when this article came across. Well you see, According to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work for 2008, Google is above every other company, and Microsoft is poorly ranked at 86th, not even in the top 50! Based on 2007 list, Microsoft not even in the top 100. Surprising huh?

Have You Gotten Your Ymail?

Little did I know, Yahoo had launch their new web mail brand, Ymail “quietly”.

I came out quite late to know about this – 11 days off the launching date! I’ve been very busy working with my team on an eco project for Imagine Cup 2008 Finals in Paris. Anyway, I managed to get my preferred Ymail ID, luckily!

Ymail

For those who know less about this new Ymail, go and grab one! Yahoo! claims that Ymail is the best web-based email, well of course in another sense Gmail is a little less that the best.

Clickbooth_logo1Gosh, I missed out Clickbooth Blog on my previous post about Clickbooth Affiliate Network. I’ve joined Clickbooth as a publisher myself and looking for more information to explore, and the do blog too! I like their approach, I mean into blogging to deliver information and message to its advertiser and also publisher. I think this makes them a step higher than other networks! Well, this is what I’m doing too – blogging!

I found tons of valuable information from their blog post, it saves me from googling too much regarding how to get the most out of Clickbooth. I read through their whole blog just now, just before writing this post and found few posts that are really useful to affiliates/Clickbooth newbies. Here are some share:

Clickbooth – Your Affiliate “Booth”

One of my many things to explore this weekend is searching around for new Affiliate Network. I’ve encountered a numbers of affiliate networks in the past and had joined few of them but not very promising for me – well I admit that I’m a newbie in affiliates kind of stuff. Ok, not a big deal because blogging is still my priority

Clickbooth

Alrite, back to my “exploration” into new affiliate network to blog about this weekend. I found Clickbooth through a recommendation from a friend of mine when I raised this matter up in a chat room last two days.

After googling around, I found out that Clickbooth is well received and highly recommended by the Internet affiliate communities. Clickbooth is new? Well, not quite. ClickBooth has been around for more than 5 years now, and they had a very good reputation from the very beginning.

Directory Submission, Good or Goose?

I have been brought into this attention the last few weeks, two weeks in exact. One of my readers and also a friend of mine in Canada asking for my opinions or tips in getting her blog off the bottom pile of Google search results. She highlighted and pointed out to me than she wants to use managed or manual directory submission services at a minimum cost.

Submit2pleaseSo, again I get some time off and start googling on this topic. I found one website, Submit2Please that offers what exactly I wanted to look in, that is manual directory submission. I choose to explore more on Submit2Please because I was caught with their ISO 9001:2000 standards in quality management systems. Sounds great huh?

There are a few categories in directory submission which is more specific and targeted, namely:

Great Web Hosting Deals in UK

Freezone_logoMy friend Jeremy drop me an email last night, well not pretty much of a greeting, but he drops me his one month old blog link and he said I should change me hosting company to the one (Freezone Internet) that hosted his blog.

Certainly, I won’t change as for now but I’m happy to see Jeremy has selected a good host. Finding a good reliable host is not easy, like what I’ve experienced before I’ve changed three hosting providers before I stick to the current one.

I’ve done a quick check on Freezone Internet and found out their track record is indeed pretty impressive! You can check out their testimonials here.

Good Website to Track Memory Price

Memory_dealI’m going to upgrade my laptop’s memory early next month, so I’m doing some startup survey on the current market price and I stumbled upon this website, MemoryDeal.net while browsing around for DDR2 price. Just to share, you might find it useful one day.

So, why MemoryDeal.net and not others?

After much googling around, I didn’t find any worthwhile website compared to Memory Deal. So, I’m getting off my scope (memory price survey) to dig more about Memory Deal by looking at their about page, etc. So, here are what I get to know about Memory Deal:
