How to Batch Rename File Extension Using Notepad
If you happen to encounter tasks such as to rename a list of files’ extension, this is a neat little trick that will get the job done easily for you.
The Only Thing You Will Need
Well, the only the you will need is your Notepad.
You see, Notepad is a very powerful, multi purpose little tool that can do many things out of what you can think. I’ve posted before on how you can use Notepad to write your dairy complete with timestamp. Of course, Notepad can do more than that.

How to Disable Smart Location Bar in Firefox 3
After days of tweaking my new Firefox 3.0, I found out that one so-called top new features of Firefox is not so pleasing – Smart Location Bar or the Awesome Bar.
The Smart Location Bar is just too “smart” to an extent that it saves my viewed browsing history without my knowledge! The auto complete feature is fine with me but I would still prefer the old Firefox 2.0 way in handling my addresses. I tried to disable this “smart” option via the Option menu but there is no direct way to do it. So, I have to do it the indirect way via about:config or with a help of an extension.

How to Lock and Hide a Folder without Using Any Software in XP
Keeping some confidential files private means a lot to me. I can do this easily with several folder and file locking software and tools available out there in the Internet but with a price to pay.
So, here is an equally easy alternative, without any cost to bear – no software no tools! What you need is just a Notepad.
OK, here is how to setup a locking and hidden upon locked folder.
- Copy and paste the code listed below in blue (between Start copy and End copy) in Notepad.
- Change the “yourpasswordhere” with your own password.
- Save it as a batch file (with extension .bat), any name will do.
- Now you see a batch file. Double click to run the batch file to create a new folder named Locker by default. You can change the folder name by changing the line “md Locker” to “md yourfoldername”.
- Now, you can put all your files that you want to lock and hide want to hide into this Locker folder.
- To lock it, double click the batch file. Double click the batch file again will unlock it, prompting you for the password.
