Find Who? with Spock

Spock_logoWho? You can ask Spock. Spock is a free people and information search engine, which primarily focuses on people search. You can search for anyone – from celebrities to your friends, basically anyone that is searchable on the Internet.

There are few competitors out there offering similar service like WikiYou, ZoomInfo and Linkedin, but I still prefer Spock.

Spock search for people (information) on biography pages, social networks (like Friendster, MySpace, Facebook), websites, the blogsphere, and well generally everywhere on the Internet.

Searching people on the Internet has never been that easy, you can sue Spock to search for a person by name or by a “tag” consisting of a personal piece of information. For example, I want to look for Bill Gates, so I just type “Bill Gates” and hit the search button. Then, if I want to search using “tag”, I want to lookup on those people related to Microsoft, I just type “Mircosoft” and of course key people in Microsoft will popup in the search results like Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.

Oh ya, you can find people by location too. A quick search on “silicon valley” reveals Steve Jobs, Michael Moritz, Dan Gillmor, Larry Page and Sergey Brin among others. By the way, where is Bill Gates?

The tagging feature is really, really great feature – the best of all. It gives you the opportunity to tag relevant and related keywords to a person’s profile in Spock. So, a person can be searched by using any keywords related to him/her.

Another thing is the picture of the related person is included in every search result – pretty cool! Besides that, when you enter a general keyword, say “google” Spock will automatically list down a few related keywords to narrow down your search.

There are many things (about people) to explore at Spock. To find a person, forget about those conventional search engines (Google, Yahoo, Live), Spock will do the job for you!
