Warning: Facebook Fan Check Virus
Social networking hotspots like Twitter and Facebook lately have been used by hackers as a launchpad to spread malware.
Just few days ago, this particular app, Fan Check has been a hot app among my friends. Today Mashable published an article about this app warning users to beware of this app because something fishy is going on. Reports say (no proof yet) this app is actually a virus that will lead users to malware and spyware sites. To be safe, avoid adding this app at all costs.
As of posting, Fan Check app is temporary unavailable due to upgrade process but it has a fan page that is still active. This app doesn’t look credible at all. There are about 6000 reviews with a poor rating of 2.2/5.0. Reviews mostly saying this app is a virus.
So to be safe, just don’t use this app!
Note: New kind of app that is similar to this has emerge a day after Fan Check. This app is called Pickup Friends.
Again to be on the safe side, don’t use it!
