Remote Computer Monitoring
I was doing some researching on network packet monitoring and I bumped into this topic, remote computer monitoring, remote key logging, remote spying, well you get my picture. Interesting enough, I went googling again for some related tools.
Well, as expected there are tons of related products and I scope down the list to three - StaffCop, Spytech, and Refog. I have done a features and price comparison and finally I resort into giving StaffCop a go. Why?
OK, frankly speaking StaffCop license is far more cheaper compared to Spytech and Refog and of course its features are comparable with the other two. Lets get down to some of StaffCop features, a very brief one:
- Screenshots recording – automatically, remotely and real time!
- Monitor running programs and applications.
- Website monitoring – record pages, URL, etc.
- Keylogger.
- Tracking file and folder operations.
- IM monitoring – it logs all chats, both incoming and outgoing.
- USB device monitoring.
- Record user session – login and logout.
- and MANY more…
Here are a few screenshots, you can check here for more.
I found StaffCop is relatively easy to use with simple and clean interface and a quite comprehensive readme documents to help new users get on with StaffCop – another thumb up!
Another point to mention is its report. Reports are documented very well and in details. You can check out a sample report generated by StaffCop.
Is StaffCop or remote monitoring tools in general proper to you? Well, if you have kids and you want to monitor their computer usages or activities or maybe you own a company and you want to monitor your employees, you may also consider to have such tools.
