This won’t really work for most good systems if your trying to get around a site at work or what not, for that you need a good PHP Proxy.

Use http://www.hideu.net for anonymous browsing. It base64 and rot13 encodes the URL and is quite fast too.

Checking the Google cache is another good idea if the site is pretty static.
